Noted social worker of Tezpur Chandra Prabha Talukdar passes away

TEZPUR: Chandra Prabha Talukdar, noted social worker of Tezpur, a resident of Chanmari (Kuhiarbari) area in Tezpur and founder president of Sarbojanin Dharmamandali Mahila Samaj, Chanmari passed away on Thursday morning at Tezpur Medical College and Hospital due to old-age ailments. She was 83. She leaves behind her son, two daughters and a host of grandchildren.

Tezpur Xahitya Xabha, Sonitpur Press Club, Baan Theatre, Chanmari and Hazarapar Sarbojanin Dharmamandali and social workers, members of various cultural groups and organizations mourned her demise and paid rich tribute to her. In her condolence message, president of Bhoomi, Momi Kalita said that Chandra Prabha Talukdar's contribution to the growth of Assamese society in greater Tezpur would be remembered for generations to come.
