Anu Hazarika, eldest daughter of Jagannath Hazarika of Azad Road, Doomdooma, and wife of Robin Kataki, Anu Hazarika Kataki (80) and a resident of Topoban, passed away on September 3 due to old-age ailments. She is survived by a son and many relatives. She was a former secretary of Doomdooma Mahila Samiti and former teacher of Doomdooma Girls’ High (now Higher Secondary) School.
Her death cast a pall of gloom and was widely mourned by many organizations, including Tapoban Mahila Samiti, Rupai Sakha Xahitya Xabha, Doomdooma Namghar Samity, Doomdooma Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Hoonlal Higher Secondary School, Doomdooma Asamiya Puja Aru Natya Mandir Samiti, Doomdooma Senior Citizens Association, Shankari Kala-Kristi Vikas Mancha, Doomdooma Press Club and others.
