Babul Neog (69), known social worker of Jamugurihat, breathed his last due to heart-related ailments at a private hospital at Tezpur on July 14. He was closely associated with many social and cultural organizations of Jamugurihat and Kusumtola.
Neog was a noted businessman who played a significant role in designing Kusumtola as a modern business hub. Many organizations, including Asomiya Sahitya Sanmilani, Kusumtola Gaon Unnayan Committee and Amritopam Educational Society and many individuals paid homage to Neog at his Kusumtola residence. He leaves behind his wife, two sons, a daughter along with a host of relatives. His death was widely mourned.
