Dambaru Chetry, retired headmaster of Sootea Academy and a resident of Sootea Old Centre, breathed his last on Friday due to old-age related ailments at a private hospital in Guwahati. He was 72. He was admitted to a private hospital in Guwahati some days back but breathed his last while undergoing treatment. He was closely associated with many socio-cultural organizations of the greater Sootea area. He leaves behind his wife, a son, a daughter along with a host of relatives.
