Kali Pada Das, former Joint Director of WPT&BC Department of Assam, left for heavenly abode on November 19 in a local nursing home in Guwahati after prolonged illness. He was 85. He was the youngest son of Tridas Nath Das, former Headmaster of Barpeta Government High School, Barpeta. He passed his matriculation from Laban Government Boys’ High School, Shillong and Pre-University and Graduation from St. Anthony’s College and St. Edmunds College, Shillong. He did his postgraduation in Statistics from Gauhati University.
Among his peers, he was known for his sincerity, punctuality, dedication and integrity. After retirement he involved himself in many socio-cultural activities. Kali Pada Das was a strict follower and preacher of the ideology of Sri Sri Ramkrishna Paramhangsha and Swami Vivekananda. He leaves behind two sons and a host of relatives, His wife had predeceased him.
