Shantiram Sarma, a resident of Gutibari, Balijuri on the northern part of Jamugurihat, breathed his last on May 18 at a private hospital in Guwahati due to prolonged illness. He was 63.
Former ward member of Uttar Nagsankar GP, Sarma was closely associated with many socio-cultural organizations of the greater Balijuri area. His untimely demise was widely mourned here. Organizations and individuals paid rich tributes to the mortal remains at his residence. He leaves behind his wife, three sons along with a host of relatives.
