Putul Sharma, a socially conscious person and retired Executive Engineer with the Department of Public Health and Engineering (PHE), passed away recently in Guwahati after a protracted illness. He was 78.
A resident of Bamgaon in Biswanath, Sharma used to raise his concerns regularly through writings in newspapers, including The Sentinel, on various issues of the society. He leaves behind his wife, a son and a daughter. Sharma was associated with Government Pensioners' Association and Biswanath Chariali Senior Citizens' Association. His death was widely mourned.
