Sanjeeb Rana, a State gold medalist in athletics and an employee of Tinsukia division of NF Railway, breathed his last due to COVID-19 comorbidity on Monday. He was 58. A resident of Lonkeswar Gohain Nagar in Hijuguri, Rana, while officiating as office superintendent at the DRM's office Tinsukia, was assistant secretary of Tinsukia branch of NFRMU and sports treasurer of Tinsukia zone at the time of his death. He leaves behind his wife and a son. Though he was in a private hospital in Dibrugarh after testing positive for COVID-19, he was released following recovery on October 19. But he developed other complexities at later stages. The NFRMU, while expressing deep condolence on his premature demise, will keep its flag half-mast for three days as a mark of respect.
