Oil India Limited conducted mock drill at Duliajan

As a part of assessing the preparedness of emergency response to tackle a disaster, Oil India Limited (OIL) at its Field Headquarters at Duliajan conducted a Level –III Off-site mock drill on Thursday at Secondary Tank Farm (STF), Madhuban.

DIBRUGARH: As a part of assessing the preparedness of emergency response to tackle a disaster, Oil India Limited (OIL) at its Field Headquarters at Duliajan conducted a Level –III Off-site mock drill on Thursday at Secondary Tank Farm (STF), Madhuban. Joint efforts of various departments of OIL successfully conducted the drill. Dibrugarh, district administration, 12th Bn National Disaster Response Force. (NDRF)-Itanagar, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Mutual Aid industries like IOCL, BCPL, HOEC, AGCL, APL, NTPS, DNPL, etc. participated.

The scenario for the drill was post-earthquake crude oil tank fire and subsequent damage to the building and injuries to the personnel at the STF. The security and fire setup was put on the highest alert and emergency response procedures were activated immediately. The fire services of OIL and mutual-aid partners successfully tackled the fire disaster. Rescue & relief operations were jointly carried out by NDRF, CISF & OIL Medical team. The drill ended with a formal debriefing session where the best practices and insights of the mock drill were discussed.
