NAGAON: Former Union Minister of State for Railways and State BJP president, Rajen Gohain said that the old sincere party workers were being neglected in the party across the State.

While addressing media persons here at Nagaon Puranigudam after inaugurating the office of the district unit of All Assam Small Tea Growers' Association, the senior saffron leader regretted by saying that the newcomers who joined from other political parties had engulfed the entire party and started to dominate the old, sincere as well as dedicated party workers.

Criticizing the current activities and affairs of the party in the State, Gohain said that he was elected as an MP for over four consecutive terms only for the party flag and the dedication as well as sacrifice of the sincere party workers.

"They are the people who have taken the party to the present status in the State with their sincerity, sacrifice and dedications. But they are being abandoned, neglected and dominated in the party," Gohain regretted.
