One-day BTC session held on Annual Operational Plan (AOP) budget in Kokrajhar

Talking to media persons, the CEM of BTC Pramod Boro said the one day session of the council was held on streamlining the AOP budget.

KOKRAJHAR: A one day BTC session was held on Tuesday on Annual Operational Plan (AOP) to streamline the plan and estimate of schemes under it. The CEM of BTC Pramod Boro stressed on streamlining budget component in different sectors. Meanwhile, the opposition bench was not satisfied on implementation of certain schemes.

Talking to media persons, the CEM of BTC Pramod Boro said the one day session of the council was held on streamlining the AOP budget. He said there had been no proper maintenance on AOP budget in the past as a result of which the schemes were not known from which fund it was implemented. He said the distribution of budget component was not in proper manner but now they are streamlining it by reforming it. He also said the council received fund from various sources for road and bridges and other infrastructures.

Boro said 500 schools of BTC area had been adopted under School Adoption Programme and the council government has decided to repair at least 400 schools where tin sheets are in bad state, floors are yet to be concretized and rooms are not sufficient. Earlier, the government laid stress on supply of bench and desk and other material but basic requirements were left, he said adding that the present government will keep eyes on fulfilling basic requirement.

Boro said more and more students were coming to have opportunity for medical and engineering coaching and UPSC and ACS coaching under Super-50 mission. He said the government will conduct selection test for UPSC and medical coaching as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, the leader of opposition Derhasat Basumatary said the government had lack of data and conceptual clearance for implementing some schemes. He said as per clause 6.3 the venture schools and colleges of BTC had to be provincialized but the State government has pushed it to BTC while the later has no clear conception on what basis and criteria the schools and colleges of BTC would be provincialized. He said the council should take up the implementation of clause 6.3 with the government.

On rehabilitation of former members of militant group and ex gratia of Rs 5 lakh to each martyr families, he said the state government had already announced an amount of Rs. 25 crore for martyr families but still only 198 families have received this amount while rest of total 2624 families are not known. He alleged that the council government had lack of data of martyr families. He demanded that there should not be biasness on the rehabilitation of ex NDFB, BLT or ABSU but martyrs should be honoured equally.
