One killed by wild elephant at Bihmari under Behali police station in Biswanath

BISWANATH CHARIALI: One person was trampled to death by a wild elephant at Bihmari under Behali police station in Biswanath subdivision on Sunday.

According to information, one Ganesh Hemron (35) was killed by the elephant while he was trying chase away the jumbo. A huge wild elephant has been reportedly carrying out terror for some days now in the areas. Since this morning, there has been terror in various areas like Majgaon, Naharjan, Lalpukhuri, Madhupur Bihmari and Segun Bari villages. Local villagers alleged that the forest department had failed to protect them from the frequent attacks of wild elephants.
