DEMOW: Ganesh Borgohain (46), a resident of Raichai in Sivasagar district, who was in the quarantine centre set up at Nitaipukhuri Hem Chandra Dev Goswami College, tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday afternoon.
According to sources, Ganesh Borgohain came from Kolkata on June 26 and was under quarantine in Nitaipukhuri Hem Chandra Dev Goswami College. On June 26, his swab sample was collected and sent to the ICMR Laboratory at Lahowal and on Thursday afternoon, the test result came positive. He was shifted to the Joysagar Civil Hospital for treatment.
At present there are 12 people in the quarantine centre set up at Nitaipukhuri Hem Chandra Dev Goswami College, said a health official.
