ONGC to Donate 9 Advanced Ambulances to Medical Colleges in Assam

DIBRUGARH: In a major step in Corporate Social Responsibility, the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited will be donating ambulances to the medical colleges in the state of Assam.

Nine advanced ambulances will be given to the top medical institution in the Government sector. These will have the capability of saving lives in case of emergency medical situations.

The top medical institutions which will be receiving these ambulances are the Medical Colleges in Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Silchar, Tezpur, Barpeta, Lakhimpur, Diphu, Tinsukia and Guwahati.

These vehicles will be flagged off from the premises of the Assam Medical College Hospital. The medical institution is celebrating its platinum jubilee this year. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma will be attending the valedictory ceremony to be organized on Thursday. Rameshwar Teli, the state minister of petroleum and natural gas and labor and employment will also be present for this event.

These advanced ambulances will have a variety of medical equipment necessary in life and death situations. These include transport ventilators , suction apparatus , defibrillators, neutralizer and an oxygen supply for emergency patients.

The state of Assam is already working leaps and bounds in the field of medical care. Apart from the General Hospitals located at various locations, the government has started a large number of Medical Colleges as well as specialty hospitals like the Cancer Hospitals. The private sector is also playing a great role in upgrading the quality of medical services in the region. With several major medical brands including the Apollo Hospitals and Narayana Hospitals expanding their services in this region, people do not need to go outside for medical consultation.

The Oil and Natural Gas Commission has been working in its CSR activities in the state of Assam. They have established a super specialty hospital in the Super Specialty Hospital in the Sivasagar district of the state of Assam.
