Online poem writing competition held in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: Khontai Bibar, a strong literary platform of poets, organized a poem writing competition for the budding and new poets in connection with the celebration of World Poetry Day recently and the group has declared the name of the winners.

Dipen Chandra Boro, who heads the Khontai Bibar platform, said they organized the online poem writing competition to inspire young writers and poets to enhance their creative activities. He said altogether 44 poets joined the competition in which Dwithun Kherkatari of Batabari Chirang bagged the first prize followed by Priyangka Basumatary of Gogmari, Tamulpur and Chandrika Narzary of Serfanguri, Chirang in second and third place. The winners were given certificates and books.

Boro said new poets from Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa, Tamulpur, Udalguri, Sonitpur Biswanath, Dhemaji, Morigaon and Goalpara district took part in the poem-writing competition. He thanked the participants and hoped that many new poets will join the group in the days to come and assured more literary activities in the near future.
