Orientation programme on mental health held in Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Regional Institute of Mental Health

A day-long orientation programme was organized in the cafeteria premises of Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Regional Institute of Mental Health for the students of Vivekananda Kendriya Vidyalaya (VKV).

TEZPUR: A day-long orientation programme was organized in the cafeteria premises of Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Regional Institute of Mental Health for the students of Vivekananda Kendriya Vidyalaya (VKV). The major objective of the programme was to make the students aware of mental health and its significance. Along with the students from all the Vivekananda Kendriya Vidyalaya of northeast India, the faculty members and officials of VKVs attended the programme.

Dr. Mrigakshi Parasor, Dr. Pallavi Talukdar, Atheline Horo, and Deepshri Phukan from LGBRIMH attended the programme. The programme started with Omkara and Shanti Mantra followed by a welcome speech delivered by a faculty member of VKV. A brief introduction about the Vivekananda Kendriya Vidyalaya (VKV) and the Ganit Prajna Pariksha programme of VKVs was given. The resource persons from LGBRIMH were felicitated with books and Gamocha. The students were addressed by Dr. Pallavi Talukdar and Dr. Mrigakshi Parasor. Dr. Pallavi Talukdar spoke on mental health and mental well-being, and various services of LGBIMH. Dr. Mrigakshi Parasor gave an overview of the historical background and current functioning of LGBRIMH.

71 students and 27 teachers from the different parts of the Northeast region attended the programme. A few students had a conversation with the resource persons from LGBRIMH. A faculty member from VKV delivered a vote of thanks speech at the end of the orientation programme.
