Over 200 people join Bharatiya Janata Party in Lakhimpur

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its brother organizations like OBC Morcha and Kishan Morcha have continued their activities to strengthen the organizational base of the party in view of the upcoming assembly election.

LAKHIMPUR: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its brother organizations like OBC Morcha and Kishan Morcha have continued their activities to strengthen the organizational base of the party in view of the upcoming assembly election.

On Tuesday, over 200 people living under Bogolijan Gaon Panchayat area joined the BJP after quitting the Congress and Asom Gana Parishad (AGP). On this occasion, a joining meeting was organized at Bogolijan Vivekananda Vidyalaya premises under the management of Lakhimpur district unit OBC Morcha general secretary Bikash Tamuli and Kishan Marcha general secretary Suresh Saikia.

Attending the event, Lakhimpur district unit BJP president Phanidhar Baruah, general secretary Dul Saikia, Dimbeswar Gogoi, vice-president Shyamol Sarmah and OBC Morcha president Kuldip Borah delivered speech and accorded welcome to the newcomers.
