MORIGAON: Oxfam India has been providing economical and livelihood support to poor and needy people during the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

Oxfam India, led by district coordinator of Morigaon, Iftikar Hussain has not only been providing economic support to the needy during the pandemic but also providing support to people rendered homeless due to erosion.

Oxfam India distributed cattle, handloom materials and grocery items at Jamadari, Bangalpara and Mikirbheta to poor and needy people. The organization provided livelihood support by distributing weaving materials to 30 women beneficiaries under Mission Sanjeevani ( Protect, Secure, Preserve 2.0) at Buwalguri-Kacharigaon (an erosion-affected area) under Laharighat block and Batabari under Bhurbandha block. The organization provided 13 handloom items to 13 women in these areas. Besides, the organization provided grocery items to two persons and 13 cows and 12 goats to poor and needy people at Bangalpara and Mikirbheta.
