PAC of Assam Legislative Assembly reviews implementation of government schemes

TINSUKIA: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Assam Legislative Assembly reviewed the implementation of various government schemes and projects at a meeting held at Tinsukia DC's conference hall on Friday.

The committee is headed by MLA Wajed Ali Chowdhury as chairman, the other members of the committee are MLAs Manab Deka, Utpal Bora, Basanta Das, Bhabendra Nath Bharali, Chakradhar Gogoi, Hafeez Basir Ahmed, Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha and Karim Uddin Barbhuyan.

After arriving at Tinsukia on a two-day tour, the committee members made spot visits of schemes implemented by various departments like Water Resources, PWD, P&RD, Social Welfare, PHE etc. In the review meeting, the committee expressed satisfaction over progress of the schemes and so also urged the district administration not to compromise with the standard while implementing the schemes. The meeting was attended by MLA of Digboi Suren Phukan, Additional Secretary Manindra Sarma, DC of Tinsukia, Narsing Pawar, CEO ZP Munindra Bordoloi, and Joint Secretary P&RD Gurnel Singh, besides other officials.
