Padma Hazarika laid foundation of helipad and erosion protection scheme

MANGALDAI: Finally the dream in the form of assurance of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to create air connectivity to pre historic Shiv Mandir at Dhalpur (Gorukhuti) with Guwahati by helicopter service is going to see the light of the day. Chairman of 'Project Gorukhuti' -cum-legislator of Sootea Padma Hazarika on Tuesday in a simple yet auspicious function laid the foundation of the proposed helipad to be constructed at the estimated cost of Rs. 45 lakhs near the Shiv Mandir in presence of legislator of Sipajhar -cum- Member of 'Project Gorukhuti' Dr. Paramananda Rajbongshi.

On June 7, despite heavy downpour, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma made a maiden visit to this Shiv Mandir by helicopter and offered puja at the mandir. On that day he firmly declared that the encroachers from Dhalpur area would be evicted and a helipad would be constructed to create the air connectivity to this pre historic Shiv Mandir from Guwahati. For the purpose the construction of a high land has been started which would finally be made as the helipad. He also laid the foundation of the erosion protection scheme at Mora Nadi at Dhalpur No. 3 to be executed at the approximate cost of Rs. 35 lakhs.

Meanwhile about 500 young farmers under the 'Project Gorukhuti' led by Chairman Padma Hazarika have started cultivation of Urad (Mati Mah), Sesame (Til) and Mustrad Oil seed in the land already made free from the encroachment. Initially a total area of 2,000 bighas will be used for the cultivation of mustard oil seed while 1000 bighas will be used for the cultivation of Maize. Further an ideal Goshala and dairy farm is also under construction to accommodate 2,000 cows at Dhalpur.

Talking to 'The Sentinel' this morning at the cultivation site at 'Project Gorukhuti' Padma Hazarika said that with the active involvement of highly enthusiastic youth of the locality the cultivation has been undertaken to make 'Project Gorukhuti'- a dream project of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, a successful one and to make it an ideal project of encouragement and inspiration for the indigenous educated unemployed youth of the State so that they could take up agricultural farming in their respective areas.
