TINSUKIA: Synchronizing with the launch of Pashu Arogya Mela by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi at Mathura on Wednesday, the Krishi Vigyan Kendra of Assam Agricultural University, Tinsukia, besides arranging the live webcast of the programme, organized an animal health camp Pashu Arogya Mela in association with District Veterinary Office, Tinsukia at Baruaholla village in which 211 livestock were vaccinated.
Before the webcast/telecast, Dr. Sanjoy Borthakur, Senior Scientist and Head, KVK, Tinsukia, addressed the gathering. He highlighted the National Animal Disease Control Programme and Artificial Insemination Programme of the government as well as Swachta Hi Sewa. He also sensitized the farmers about the recently launched two schemes - Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) and Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana (PM-KMY). A total of 78 farmers and farm women participated in the programme along with Dr. Devananada Gogoi, DVO, Tinsukia and Dr. Prabhat Dutta, VO (M), Tinsukia.
