People over 45 years urged to take COVID vaccine without fear or doubt

GOLAGHAT: 'World Health Day' was celebrated on Wednesday at the Tenpur Urban Health Centre in Golaghat, organized by the National Tobacco Control Project, Golaghat and the District Health Society.

On this occasion, Dr. Arun Chandra Mahanta, Joint Director, Health Services, Golaghat, appealed to all people over the age of 45 years to take the COVID-19 vaccine voluntarily without any fear and hesitation. "Everyone should come forward to take vaccine instead of spreading rumours regarding the vaccination," he said. He said that before April 12, all persons above the age of 45 years could take vaccine at the Tenpur Urban Health Centre and Golaghat COVID Hospital.

Narayan Kuri, secretary, District Legal Services Authority, who was present as the chief guest at the function, emphasized the importance of enhancing immunity for good health. In the meeting, Dr. Gakul Chand Khandelwal gave a detailed account of mental health care. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Pulin Phukan. District Information and Public Relations Officer Pompi Devi and social activist Jury Das Rajkhowa also attended the programme.

Earlier, Nodal Officer of National Tobacco Control Project, Golaghat, Dr. Sunita Ekka explained the purpose of the meeting. The NCC cadets who participated in the meeting exchanged their views with the eminent persons of the health sector present.
