GOLAGHAT: In view of the significant increase in COVID-19 cases, monitoring of home quarantined people on a daily basis has become the need of the hour. The Golaghat district administration has started to use a mobile app-based solution called COVID Suraksha, developed by NIC Assam State Centre, to monitor the status of the home quarantined persons in the district.

The system has two parts – one is a web based application and the other is the mobile app. Persons bound for home quarantine will have to download the app using a link provided by screening centre officials and self-register in the app by providing their details. They will have to keep sending a selfie after every three hours to indicate their quarantined position. The selfie along with the latitude-longitude of the location can be viewed using the application dashboard. Another important feature of app is geo-fencing by which if a person violates 150 metre radius of his/her home, then this violation is intimated to the district administration through an alert.

Deputy Commissioner of Golaghat, Bibhash Chandra Modi has instructed NIC Golaghat and NHM officials to strictly implement self-registration and geo-fencing monitoring of the application. The Golaghat district administration can check all the relevant details of the quarantined persons from the COVID Suraksha Dashboard.
