TANGLA: Assam Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Ranjit Kumar Dass participated in a mega bike rally in Bhergaon BTC constituency of Udalguri district on Tuesday to garner support ahead of the BTC polls slated to be held in December 7 and December 10.
Dass, while campaigning for Bhergaon BTC constituency BJP candidate Phatik Kachari, said that the Bodo belt had witnessed ethnic violence and insurgency in the past but after the saffron party was voted to power in the Centre and the State, the region witnessed stability and peace was restored. Dass said that the people of the Bodo belt wanted change and for the sake of 'good governance', would vote for the BJP in the forthcoming BTC polls.
Dass also exuded confidence that the BJP would grab considerable number of seats in the ensuing polls. The bike rally passed through Bhergaon-Dimakuchi Attarekhat region of Udalguri district where former Rajya Sabha MP SantiuseKujur; former BTC MCLA RatiramBoro; BJP leader Dimbeswar Das, among others participated. Dass also visited the
Borengajuli Sankar Dev Xatra located in Dimakuchi near the Indo-Bhutan border area of Udalguri district and sought the divine blessings Xatradhikar Hare Krishna Deb Mahanta.
