Pharmacy owner Hafizur Rahman shot at by miscreants

NAGAON: Hafizur Rahman, the proprietor of Chalchali-based pharmacy ‘Jana Oshadhi Kendra’ under Haibargaon Outpost, was shot at and injured by two motorcycle borne unidentified miscreants on Tuesday night. The injured businessman was immediately admitted to a private nursing home by some locals here.

Meanwhile, Nagaon police led by SP Navaneet Mahanta arrested one Inamul Hasan in connection with the incident, sources said, adding that the victim businessman was on the way home after closing his medicine outlet at around 9.30 pm when two motorcycle-borne unidentified miscreants suddenly opened fire at him and fled from the spot. Navaneet Mahanta, the newly-appointed Superintendent of Police, immediately rushed to the spot and took stock about the incident in detail. Significantly, the victim businessman alleged that the attack on him might have been carried out by some supari killer engaged by Inamul Huda and Haidar Ali, the proprietors of ‘Ham Ek Group’ here, sources added.
