Photo exhibition on Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav held in Barpeta

BARPETA: The two-day long Photo exhibition-cum-outreach programme by Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Regional office, Guwahati began on Monday at AdarshaVidyalaya, Dahalapara, Barpeta . The theme of the exhibition is Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, 8 years of Seva, Sushasan and Garib Kalyan.

Inaugurating the exhibition, Bipul Deka, Block Development Officer, Chakchaka Block said that the country is celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to pay tribute to the martyrs and to aware the masses about their contribution. He also said that government is taking various developmental initiatives for the people and through this kind of exhibition the common masses will be more aware of the programmes and policies of the government.

Speaking on the occasion, Jayanta Kumar Sarma, Principal, AdarshaVidyalaya Dahalapara recalled the sacrifices of the freedom fighters of the nation. He urged the students to remember and follow the ideals of the freedom fighters.

Tilak Das, Principal, Srimanta Sankardev Vidyalaya Dahalapara in his address praised the initiative of CBC Guwahati for organizing such exhibition in Barpeta district. Sucharita Sahoo Field Publicity Officer, CBC, Guwahati spoke about the aim and significance of the programme in her welcome address, stated a press release.
