Pijush Hazarika inaugurates beautification scheme of Marabharali river in Tezpur

Speaking at the inauguration of the scheme, Minister Piyush Hazarika said that the historical city of Tezpur is very dear to him.

TEZPUR: Minister of Water Resources Department Piyush Hazarika inaugurated the beautification scheme of Marabharali river in Tezpur on Saturday. At the Cabinet meeting held in Tezpur, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma had announced the excavation of the Marabharali river in Tezpur. Accordingly, on Saturday, the excavation has been started through the Water Resources Department. The beautification of the Marabharali river from Parua Chariali to the tomb of Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha Samadhi with a fund of Rs 15 crore in the first phase will be done.

Speaking at the inauguration of the scheme, Minister Piyush Hazarika said that the historical city of Tezpur is very dear to him. There are many sources of information about the city of Tezpur. The minister further said that the Water Resources Department has undertaken the river dredging programme on the direction of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma. He also said that the government has been working hard to improve the quality of life in the districts.

Tezpur MP Pallab Lochan Das, Tezpur MLA Prithiraj Rava, MLA Diganta Kalita, Krishna Kamal Tati and Deputy Commissioner Sonitpur Deba Kumar Mishra and other dignitaries were present at the programme.
