Poetry book titled 'Upalabdhi' released at Jamugurihat

'Upalabdhi', an Assamese poetry book penned by retired teacher Guru Prasad Upadhayaya was released in a function held at Suryoday Bhawan, Jamugurihat on Sunday.

JAMUGURIHAT: 'Upalabdhi', an Assamese poetry book penned by retired teacher Guru Prasad Upadhayaya was released in a function held at Suryoday Bhawan, Jamugurihat on Sunday. The book release function began with a ghosha performance by a group of children which was followed by a welcome note by Dr. Tilak Sarma with Tarun Baruha in the chair. Dharmeswar Hazarika, retired principal of Pachighat Government College who graced the occasion as a guest of honour highlighted the literary trends of Guru Prasad Upadhayaya. Releasing the book, Dr. Saikia, a known poet and medical and health officer of Jamuguri Subsidiary Hospital addressed the issues and problems that brought by the technology towards the field of book printing and publication. The meeting was also addressed by Nagen Kalita, Moti Sarma, Chakrapani Sarma, Padma Sarma, Lila Bhuyan, and Ghanashyam Adhikari. Utpal Sarma, Krishna Kanta Talukdar and Bani Kanta Das recited their poems in the meeting.
