Jorhat police on Friday arrested members of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti for
placing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) activist, Akhil Gogoi's poster
demanding his release.
The members of KMSS were protesting against CAA
activist Akhil Gogoi's year-long stay in
jail and were demanding his release. Police personnel tried to pull out the
posters and asked them not to put it on the wall.
The Jorhat police arrest them in charge of pasting a poster on the wall of DC Office.
The KMSS member said," Police arrested us for just placing Gogoi's poster on the wall. But they cannot stop us from speaking. The people of Assam would protest against it."
Gogoi is imprisoned in Guwahati jail for the last 11
months was arrested last year on December 12 for his alleged role in violence
during the CAA protest.
