Police Commemoration Day observed in Goalpara town & Rangia Hahara camp

The 152 Battalion of CRPF on Wednesday observed the Police Commemoration Day at the Shastrinagar based headquarter of Goalpara town.

GOALPARA: The 152 Battalion of CRPF on Wednesday observed the Police Commemoration Day at the Shastrinagar based headquarter of Goalpara town. Dev Shankar Mishra, Commandant of the 152 Battalion, addressed the jawans and highlighted the role of the CRPF and their dedicated service to the motherland. The commandant also glorified the supreme sacrifice made by the 3rd Battalion CRPF during the Chinese aggression at Ladakh's Hot Spring in the year 1959. The troop, along with the police forces, successfully foiled the aggression. But during the operation, several CRPF and police jawans laid down their lives and made the country proud. On Wednesday, the martyrs were given tribute in a befitting manner.

RANGIA: Police Commemoration Day was observed by the SSB 24 Bn at Rangia Hahara camp on Wednesday. Hrishikesh Sarma, Commandent of SSB 24 Bn, paid homage to the brave martyrs who had sacrificed their lives to protect the country. Commandent Sarma felicitated Nalini Medhi, Puja Medhi and Kaushik Medhi – the mother, daughter and son respectively of martyr Nakul Medhi of Rangia Gurkuchi who lost his life in an encounter with the NDFB in the year 2013 at Panbari under Chirang district. They were felicitated with a bouquet of flowers, garland and memento. In his speech, Commandant Sarma recalled the sacrifices of the SSB martyrs.
