Police seizes IMFL, one held at Sarupathar

SARUPATHAR: The Subdivisional Police Officer (SDPO) Trinayan Bhuyan and his police team conducted a raid at Sarupathar town, near the Railway Station in two dhabas on Tuesday and seized 48 bottles of IMFL and 30 bottles of local wine from their possession. The Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and the local wine which were illegally brought to sell from the wine shop in Sarupathar were seized and the owner of the Dhaba was apprehended in this connection. He was identified as Liku Gogoi, (44) S/O Kanta Gogoi of Khanikar gaon under Sarupathar Police Station in Golaghat district.

However, the SDPO Trinayan Bhuyan said, "We have initiated the necessary lawful action in coordination with Sarupathar Excise Department and the apprehended person has been sent to the judicial custody today." Further investigation is on. More police action in the case is on the course, the SDPO added.
