Population of Muslim in Assam is More Than National Average: BJP Leader Dilip Saikia

GUWAHATI: Assam BJP Leader Dilip Saikia on Monday said that the population of Muslims is increasing in Assam more than the national average. He said that the name of Muslim remains associated with every incident and the Muslim intellectual needs to be united to take up these issues.

The BJP leader took to the Twitter to talk about the matter. He further said on Sunday that just policies would not control growing population and there is a need to create awareness about the issue among the minority community.

As per the sources, Saikia said this regarding a meeting between Assam chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma and 150 intellectuals from the Muslim community in Guwahati on Sunday.

Saikia said that this is a major drive of the Assam government. Muslims are falling behind in different regions. This meeting was held with Muslim intellectuals under the initiative of the CM on that load of points like how to advance their education, their abilities, their public activity, and how to incorporate them into the improvement interaction.

Population explosion is going on all over India particularly Assam. The number of inhabitants in Muslims is expanding in Assam more than the national average while the number of inhabitants in Hindus is diminishing, according to Saikia.

As Sarma met those 150 scholars of the Muslim community on Sunday to get their perspectives on the population control policy, the conversation based on financial issues influencing the native Muslim populace of Assam was held in presence of various cabinet ministers.

On June 19, Sarma had reported that his administration will progressively incorporate a two-child policy for profiting government benefits. He has promoted to pass the bill in the coming monsoon session, policy the strategy in the state.
