Postal ballot for PwD voters, persons above 80 years in Golaghat

GOLAGHAT: Like other election districts of the State, in Golaghat too all necessary steps have been taken to ensure smooth conduct of assembly elections. For the first time, Khumtai and Golaghat constituencies in the district will have the option of postal ballots for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) and for those who are above the age of 80 years. Golaghat and Khumtai constituency together have a total of 1,211 specially-abled voters. The Khumtai constituency has 520 PwD voters whereas the number of PwD voters in Golaghat constituency is 691. Similarly, there are 1,318 voters above the age of 80 years in Golaghat and 848 voters in Khumtai have been registered so far. The number of voters is likely to increase.

The final process of confirming the names of all the voters above the age of 80 and PwD is going on through door-to-door visit by BLO and ICDS supervisors. The final list will be published in a couple of days. Voters above the age of 80 years and specially-abled voters who want to vote by postal ballot can still register their names through 12D application form. Their application forms will be collected from home.
