LAKHIMPUR: The distribution of Pradhan Mantri Jana Arogya Yojana (Ayushman) Cards for the beneficiaries under Lakhimpur LAC area was ceremonially inaugurated on Friday.
In this context, a programme was organized under the auspices of Lakhimpur District Health Society in the auditorium in the Office of the Joint Director of the department concerned. The programme was held under the management of Debanga Bikash Gogoi, the District Programme Manager of the National Health Mission. In the programme, the distribution of the cards concerned was inaugurated by Lakhimpur MLA Manab Deka.
In his lecture, Deka threw light in the drastic changes and development of the health and medical sector in Lakhimpur district. He lauded the efforts initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma with regard to providing the best services to the common masses through the health sector. He also described the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Jana Arogya Yojana (Ayushman) Card. He said that the construction works of the Super Speciality Hospital, Dental College and Hospital and the Nursing College, as declared by the Chief Minister, would start soon.
Attending the event, Deputy Commissioner Sumit Sattawan said that the e-KYC of a total of 5,07,821 beneficiaries of the district out of 8,83,949 had been completed for the Ayushman Card till date. He added that effort had been underway to fulfill the target in the upcoming days. The programme was attended by a galaxy of medical officers of the district.
