Pramod Boro inaugurates mountaineering training programme in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: The Chief Executive Member (CEM) of BTC, Pramod Boro on Thursday inaugurated the five-day long training programme on mountaineering organized by the department of Sports and Youth Welfare, BTC, at Dangdufur Hills in Kokrajhar. Altogether 47 trainees from four BTC districts are taking part in the mountaineering training.

Inaugurating the training programme, CEM Pramod Boro said the training on mountaineering would give ample opportunity to youths in adventure sports and hoped that they would become great mountaineers in near future. He said youths could take sports as career and a person can earn world fame through sports.

Boro said determination and hard work were the most essential tools in sports and only these tools could bring success in life. He said those youths who had dropped out of education could choose sports as their alternative career. He said that the BTC had taken up various projects to upgrade sports in the council to tap talents.

The EM of BTC, Dr Nilut Swargiary also spoke on the occasion. Earlier, the CHD of Sports and Youth Welfare, BTC, Swmdwn Mushahary gave the welcome address. The inaugural function was also attended by DSO, Kokrajhar Ptadip Narzary, SDSO of Kokrajhar Matilal Borgoyari and others.
