Pre-revision activities under Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral rolls begin in Tezpur

TEZPUR: Along with the rest of the country, the process of Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral rolls, with January 1, 2022 as the qualifying date have begun in Tezpur Election district. This was announced by Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Bhupesh Chandra Das at a press meet held at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner's here on Monday.

As per the schedule announced by Election Commission of India, the draft electoral rolls will be published on November 1, 2021 after completion of the pre-revision activities on October 31, 2021. The period for filing claims and objections is from November 1, 2021 to November 30, 2021. All claims and objections will be disposed off by December 20, 2021 and the final electoral rolls will be published on January 5, 2022.

As part of the Special Summary Revision, the pre-revision activities have already begun in Tezpur Election district. During this period, removal of DSEs/ multiple entries, logical errors, etc., along with rationalization of polling stations, proper formation of sections and disposal of all pending forms, and other related activities will be carried out.

The updation of electoral rolls is done throughout the year through nvsp.in. All new voters who will be attaining 18 years of age as on January 1, 2022 are eligible to apply for inclusion of names in the electoral roll.
