Preparation on for 3-day Swahidi Divas at Dhubri Gurudwara

The three-day celebration of 346 th Swahidi Divas of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji, the ninth Guru of Sikhs, will get underway December 6 to December 8 at Dhubri Gurudwara under the auspices of Sikh Pratinidhi Board, Eastern Zone (SPBEZ).

DHUBRI: The three-day celebration of 346 th Swahidi Divas of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji, the ninth Guru of Sikhs, will get underway December 6 to December 8 at Dhubri Gurudwara under the auspices of Sikh Pratinidhi Board, Eastern Zone (SPBEZ).

In an executive body meeting of board held recently at Dhubri Gurudwara Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji, the programme was chalked out and duties and responsibilities were distributed among the members.

As part of the three-day programme, akhand path will begin from December 6 and end with akhand bhog on December 8 while kirtan dewan will be held for all the three days where Ragi, Dhadi and Pracharak from Punjab would take part. Moreover, Guru Ka Langar will be served in the Gurudwara premises all the three days, a board source informed.

Source also informed that gar kirtan (procession in the town) will be taken out on December 7, where Sikh devotees from various parts of country and abroad are expected to join the procession and take part in the celebration.

Talking to The Sentinel, secretary of SPBEZ, Sardar Kulwant Singh informed that charity and social welfare activities would also be carried along with celebration of Swahidi Divas. Singh said, "In view COVID-19 protocols, many programmes have been cut short, while all other rituals will be carried maintaining norms and guidelines issued by the government from time to time."

Singh also informed that duties and responsibilities, including accommodation of a large number of devotees, preparation of Guru Ka Langar, management of darbar and gar kirtan were distributed among the members of the board.
