Preparations on for 62nd session of Bodo Sahitya Sabha in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: Massive preparations are on for holding the 62nd session of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) and 48th session of Kokrajhar district BSS at Rani Khalaishree Fwthar, near Swrmanga River, Patgaon in Kokrajhar district from February 23 to February 26. A new executive body of the session will be formed in the historic session.

Talking to media persons, MLA and president of the reception committee, Lawrence Islary said massive preparations were going for successful holding of the historic session of the BSS. He said the preparations were progressing fast and were likely to be completed well before the scheduled date as all sub-committees are working in a war-footing manner. He said 500 stalls had been made for book fair and exhibition and approach roads were being built.

Islary said that Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and other prominent personalities from various states and Nepal have been invited. He called upon the people to come and participate in the historic session and make it a grand success. It is expected that over 6,000 delegates from across the states of Assam and West Bengal, and Nepal are likely to come in the session. There will also be cultural show from various parts of BTC, Assam and West Bengal.

A meeting of the reception committee was also held on Tuesday with Lawrence Iswary, MLA and president of the reception committee in the chair. Progress report from 19 sub-committees were taken in the meeting.
