Preparations on to celebrate 3rd BTR Accord Day in Kokrajhar

Preparations are going on to celebrate the 3rd BTR accord day on January 27 in all district and sub-divisional headquarters of BTC with the theme ‘Peace and Harmony’.

KOKRAJHAR: Preparations are going on to celebrate the 3rd BTR accord day on January 27 in all district and sub-divisional headquarters of BTC with the theme 'Peace and Harmony'.

The secretary of Implementation of Bodo Accord (IBA) department, BTC, NC Basumatary stated that the 3rd accord day would be celebrated in all district and sub-divisional headquarters of BTR on January 27. He said the Guardian EMs of the council would take the lead roles for organizing bike rally in their respective district and sub-divisional headquarters and the MCLAs and MLAs would coordinate with the guardian EMs in their respective places.

He also said all the elected representatives, chairmen of Municipal Boards, TCLCC, VCDC, youths, social workers, government officials, volunteers and NGOs would join the bike rally. After covering 10 to 20 km rally in their respective locations, there will be a public meeting. Besides, there will be plantation of tree and blood donation programmes on that day.

In Kokrajhar, the bike rally will start from BTC Secretariat gate to Government HS&MP School playground where there will be a public meeting.

The BTR Accord was signed on January 27, 2020 between the Government of India, Government of Assam, ABSU, all factions of NDFB and United Bodo People's Organization (UBPO) in New Delhi in presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other top bureaucrats of both the Central and State governments. The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi graced the huge public gathering after the accord in Kokrajhar on February 7, 2020 and assured to transform BTC a vibrant 6th schedule council with economic packages.
