Preventive measure for Japanese Encephalitis in Sootea

JAMUGURIHAT: Japanese Encephalitis (JE) cases are on the rise in various parts of Sootea. Pramod Bhattacharya, a resident of Sootea old centre, died of JE a week back while Narayan Gupta and Jakir Ali, both from Itakhola area, tested positive for JE and are undergoing treatment. In this regard, Sootea Press Club, in collaboration with Sootea Town Committee, Sootea No 3 Gaon Panchayat and the medical department, had organized a spraying drive. Medicines were sprayed in the ditches and gutters of the town area of Sootea on Thursday. It was attended by Dipshika Handique, Mayor of Sootea town committee, Uday Shankar Saikia, president of No 3 GP, and others.
