Primary Accused Detained In Assam In Connection With Professor Couple Murder Case Of Bihar

GUWAHATI: The primary suspect in the murder case involving a retired professor couple, Tapan Dey, was apprehended by a team of Bhojpur police on Thursday in the Assamese village of Jonai in the Dhemaji district.

In addition to the two kitchen knives used in the murder and the professor couple's cell phones, the police also discovered stolen jewellery, Rs 8,100 in cash, and Rs 50,000 in cash that had been taken by the accused. Using CCTV evidence, the police squad was able to apprehend the suspect.

On January 30, retired professor Mahendra Prasad Singh and his wife, professor Pushpa Singh, were discovered dead in their Katira neighbourhood apartment. The crime was reported to the Nawada police station in Ara. The accused Tapan Dey had contact with Prof. Mahendra Prasad Singh a few years ago, according to Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar when speaking to the media.

He supposedly received it from the professor. confidence that he will secure his employment. The professor couple was frequently helped by Tapan and his wife. Dey asserted that in addition to paying the professor, he had also given him some cash for the assignment. He had been seeking payment for the services he had rendered to the professor couple in addition to his own pay.

The SP has urged people to get police verification before hiring any domestic help so that, in the event of any untoward incident, the police can apprehend the perpetrator quickly. On another occasion, the accused and the professor got into a heated argument over the issue, and in a fit of rage, the accused killed the professor's wife Pushpa with two kitchen knives before killing Prof. Mahendra when he emerged from his bathroom.

Another instance of a Class 11 student being fatally stabbed surfaced as crime rates in the nation rose. The child was allegedly attacked by a group of teenagers, some of whom were allegedly his schoolmates while walking home from school in Haryana's Faridabad.
