DIGBOI : The pro-talk ULFA leader Jiten Dutta was arrested on Saturday from his residence at Borbeel in Digboi in Tinsukia district.
A team of Tinsukia Police led by Ripunjoy Kakoti, Additional SP (Crime Branch) in association with the Army took Dutta into its custody. Dutta who has been leading the anti-CAB movement in Upper Assam, said he has done nothing illegal while protesting against the contentious legislation.
"If shouting peacefully against the government in democracy for the sake of society, culture and existence is a crime then I am ready to commit such crime again and again till the Citizenship (Amendment) Act is scrapped," Dutta said.
Dutta also alleged that he was not intimated anything by the administration and police about his arrest.
