Programme on Yoga organized by Panigon OPD College of Lakhimpur

Panigon OPD College of Lakhimpur district celebrated the 9th International Yoga Day. In order to observe the event, the NSS Unit of the college organized a yoga practice programme under the management of NSS Unit Project Officer-cum-Professor Joy Prakash Bhuyan.

LAKHIMPUR: Panigon OPD College of Lakhimpur district celebrated the 9th International Yoga Day. In order to observe the event, the NSS Unit of the college organized a yoga practice programme under the management of NSS Unit Project Officer-cum-Professor Joy Prakash Bhuyan. Yoga instructor Biren Bhuyan took part as resource person in the event wherein the Principal, teaching and administrative staff of the college were present. On the other hand, the college also observed the Bishnu Rabha Divas under the Literary and Drama Club of the college.

The agenda of the programme organized on the occasion began with the lighting of earthen lamps by Lohit Chandra Khaond, the former president of Telahi Kamalaboria Sakha Xahitya Xabha. The programme was held under the management of Professor Dr. Rakhi Deudhai Phukan and Dr BD Nisha and it was inaugurated by Principal Dr. Suresh Kumar Dutta, who delivered lecture on Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha’ life, work and contribution to the Assamese community. A poem recitation competition was organized among the students of the college wherein Dulal Dutta, Bijoy Lakhi Das and Gunjan Dutta attended as judges. Nabin Medhi, Phatik Borah and Parishmita Hazarika respectively won the first, second and third prizes in the competition. President of Telahi Kamalaboria Sakha Xahitya Xabha Haren Hazarika attended the programme as guest of honour.
