Progress of projects, schemes discusses at SDDC meeting in Margherita

TINSUKIA: The Subdivisional Development Committee (SDDC) meeting was held on Wednesday in the office of the Subdivisional Officer (Civil), Margherita with Palash Rajkumar Ahom, ADC, i/c, Margherita in the chair.

Officials from various line departments such as Agriculture, PWD Building, Block Development Office, Excise, Irrigation, PHE, PWD Roads, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Block Elementary Education, Employment Exchange, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, Labour Office, Industries & Commerce and Soil Conversation attended the meeting.

The meeting discussed in details all the projects and schemes being implemented under each department. Representatives from all departments also submitted the status report of the works that are either completed or on the verge of completion. Ahom stated that the climatic condition in the region and the onset of early rains may hamper and dampen the tempo of most of the work. However, the departments ought to have short, medium and long-term plans to deal with such issues. He also said that Asset creation, Housing, Sanitation, Ration, Education, Employment generation and proper connectivity are the important aspects of development and the departments should relentlessly work towards achieving their set targets within the time allotted.

The ADC i/c remarked that no department is a stand-alone department of the government but all the departments must come forward in forums such as the SDDC meeting and discuss the progress, plan, program, issues and work in tandem with the other departments.
