Kaziranga: Pabitra Kumar Das, Additional District Magistrate of Kaliabor Sub-Division has announced prohibitory orders on Thursday for the safety and security of the wild animals of Kaziranga National Park.
As areas under Kaziranga National Park are gradually getting inundated by flood water forcing the wild animals to cross the National Highway-37 (NH-37) towards higher grounds adjoining Karbi Anglong Hills on the southern boundary of the Park, the animals may fall victim to miscreants as well as may get knocked down by vehicles plying on the busy highway.
The Additional District Magistrate further said that road accidents may put at risk or endanger the life of the passengers.
Here are the prohibitory orders to be followed:
1. Speed of vehicles of any type must not exceed 40 KMS per hour.
2. Assembly of five or more people is prohibited.
3. Carrying of firearms, lethal weapons, and bows and arrows is prohibited.
4. Hunting or killing of wild animals or any attempt to do so is prohibited.
5. Stopping heavy vehicles in front of dhabas and restaurants is prohibited.
6. Parking of LMVs at nighttime without any valid reason in the aforementioned area is prohibited.
7. Blowing of loud horns in and around Kaziranga National Park including Additional areas is prohibited.
It is to be mentioned that police, Para Military Forces, Armed Forces Officials/Guards, Security Personnel to VIPs on duty, ambulances carrying critically ill patients, officials and medical officers, and para-medical staff on COVID-19 duty and other medical emergencies are exempted from the purview of this order.
However, if any person doesn't follow the rules, action will be taken under 188 of the IPC against the violators.
