Protest against sky rocketing prices of essential commodities in Tinsukia

In response to APCC president Bhupen Kumar Borah’s directive, the Tinsukia District Congress Committee in association with Tinsukia and Itakhuli Block Congress organized a three-hour protest against sky rocketing price rise

TINSUKIA: In response to APCC president Bhupen Kumar Borah’s directive, the Tinsukia District Congress Committee in association with Tinsukia and Itakhuli Block Congress organized a three-hour protest against sky rocketing price rise of essential commodities in the presence of about 500 protesters at the Dr Bhupen Hazarika Memorial Park in Thana Chariali, Tinsukia on Saturday.

The event was attended by Tinsukia District Congress president Pranab Barua, former MLA Raju Sahu, APCC secretary Abinash Gogoi, APCC spokesperson Mousum Barua, APCC Teachers’ Cell president Dr.Padmeswar Doley and many other office bearers. Many common people also volunteered to participate in the protest. Later, the TDCC submitted a memorandum to the District Commissioner Tinsukia urging the Government to take immediate steps to control escalating price rise of essential commodities. Sharply criticizing the Chief Minister of Assam, Pranab Baruah TDCC president stated in the memo that he and his supporters were busy diverting attention from burning issues, prioritizing the wrong matters and adopting divisive policies instead of taking steps to alleviate the hardship and sufferings of common masses.
