JAMUGURIHAT: The Pub Jamuguri branch of Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX) under Sonitpur Zila Xahitya Xabha was constituted at a public meeting convened by Bahdonga Village Development Committee and Yubak Sangha at the Arunodai Library in Bahdonga with Kirti Nath, a retired teacher, in the chair, on Friday.
Dulal Nath, secretary of Sonitpur Zila Xahitya Xabha, graced the meeting as chief guest. Addressing the public meeting, secretary Nath briefly explained about the need and importance of the Xabha branch for the development of language and literature. At the end of the meeting, a new branch of Sonitpur Zila Xahitya Xabha named Pub Jamuguri branch was constituted with Benimadhab Bora as president and Dipak Saikia as secretary, along with 21 executive members.
In the public meeting, meritorious students who performed well in the HSLC and HS examinations, along with Karabi Saikia, the principal of Sonit Konwar Gajen Baruah Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, were felicitated.
