Tamulpur: A mass rally was taken out in Darrangamela along the Indo-Bhutan border against drugs, illegal liquor, teer gambling, child marriage and anti-social activities. It was organized by the All BTAD Minority Students’ Union (ABMSU) Kumarikata Anchalik Committee, in association with Darrangamela Primary Committee and Garaje Line Primary Committee, under Tamulpur subdivision in the district of Baksa.
Students from various schools of Darrangamela area, ABMSU activists of Kumarikata and Darrangamela area and local conscious people participated in the mass rally with posters and shouting slogans.
The protesters used band party to attract the public. Expressing resentment, ABMSU leaders said that anti-social activities were going on in the area but the administration had chosen to ignore these. They said that in the past, ABMSU had requested the Baksa district administration to stop these anti-social activities but no measures had been taken to stop them. Hence, the ABMSU had taken out this protest rally to demand a stop to these anti-social activities.
