HAFLONG: Manoj Kumar Saikia, the executive engineer of Haflong PWD Road division, was arrested in his office by a team of Anti-Corruption and Vigilance Cell, at Haflong on Thursday.
Saikia was caught red-handed for taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 in the name of releasing a bill. He was arrested with the bribe money. Saikia joined here at Haflong as the Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) road division in October 2022.
The team of the vigilance cell raided the office in presence of police at Haflong and recovered a good amount of cash and at least 16 ATM cards of several accounts.
