PWD Minister Tapan Kumar Gogoi lays Foundation stone of Bridge in Sivasagar

JOYSAGAR: “There will be two more RCC bridges over the Dikhow River in addition to the present Amgurighat and Gamon Bridge and these two bridges will be known as Boliaghat RCC Dikhow Bridge and Sripuriaghat RCC Dikhow Bridge. These two new bridges will change the whole socio-economic scenario of the greater Konwarpur-Desangmukh and West Sivasagar area. The State PWD Ministry has already allotted the sum for construction of these two RCC bridges,” said State Power and PWD Minister and also the MLA of Sonari, Tapan Kumar Gogoi during the foundation-laying function held on Tuesday in the Boliaghat-ONGC GGS-IV connecting Chariali area of greater Konwarpur in Sivasagar.

Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner PG Jha chaired the function while Sivasagar PWD Chief Engineer briefed about the objectives of the meeting. Besides, Gogoi also laid the foundation stone of the proposed Boliaghat-Nakatani GGS PWD road (Rs 78 lakh), Konwarpur-Saudorchuk-Desangmukh-Harmoti connecting PWD Rural Road (Rs 94 lakh) on Tuesday in presence of the top officials of the Sivasagar district administration and hundreds of local villagers and BJP workers.

Meanwhile, Nazira MLA and the leader of the Opposition in the Assam Assembly, Debobrat Saikia laid the foundation stone of the proposed Dikhow River embankment construction work in Nazira Kumargaon (3.55 km costing about Rs 3.50 crore) on Tuesday. Besides, the Nazira MLA also laid the foundation stone of the proposed construction of the HS Road, Satai Road, Jaykham Road and the Rupahi-Kahikuchi Road in presence of Nazira SDO TP Thapa and other top officials of the subdivision.
